Hi i have a 1986 trans am and the fuel pump seemed like it was going. But now it wont kick at all. So then we replaced the fuel pump relay. But now it wont start at all it has a full tank and it turn over at all. It seems like it is trying but its not doing anything. The runs for 2 or 3 seconds and no to change the fuel pump we have the cut the flowmaster off and and drop the tank and then put it in and then weld the muffler back on. Any help would be great. i got a new job and it requires me to drive ALOT so i need to get this fixed ASAP

 

first of all be sure its the fuel pump... can you hear it at all when you turn your key to the on position?

if your sure its your fuel pump there is a way around dropping the tank but is very dangerous incase of a car wreck.. you can cut a trap door underneath the carpet right behind your backseat and easily access the fuel pump. do a search for this and get step by step instructions
