External Fuel Pump, Return Question
I'm planning to install an external FP on my TPI install ( Cost and availability of tank and in-tank sender is too high). One of the books I got on TPI install suggested using a pump from a 1980 280Z, Airtex # 8312. The reasoning was that the return could be "Tee'd" into the pump on the tank side, rather than running it to the tank itself.
While this sounds interesting, I would like to hear your thoughts on it.
Also, if anyone has experience with an external pump I would like to hear about it ( noise, performance, etc)
FYI, the vehicle is an '85 El Camino w/ L69 engine from '87 MCSS.
Thanks

Re: External Fuel Pump, Return Question
I don't see why not , however I like the idea of returning fuel to tank so as to lose some of the heat picked up when passed through the engine bay

Re: External Fuel Pump, Return Question
There's a guy on team Chevelle, who is running these two pumps; one's a low pressure and the other high.
AC Delco #EP42S is GM #6472382
AC Delco #EP184 is GM #25115528
So I wonder if the single Airtex # 8312 would work good?
