Fuel Pump Dying!
Fuel Pump Dying!
Ok..Pretty sure my fuel pump is dying it makes some horrible noise wich can be heard from my fuel lines under the hood. Iv got a carb but was originally TPI I think That it would be easiest to put the stock pump back in but when i got the car up on jackstands and got under it today I noticed many of the problems I would be facing. As for one problem I need to remove the exhause from the cat back. The problem there is that the Cat "mysteriously" dissapeared and the exhaust got welded back together in place of the cat. I read years ago on here about people replacing fuel pumps without dropping there tanks. I would like to know how this is done and the pros and cons of doing it this way...ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Once again and ideas, pics, links to old threads Id like to explore all options before i go hack my exhaust off...Thanks again guys this site had helped me sooo much I think I would have drove the car off a cliff by now without it

Re: Fuel Pump Dying!
What some have done is pull the back seat and cut an access panel in the body to get to the fuelpump.
Search for "access panel" and read the controversy.
