Transmission: t-5 =(

Axle/Gears: 345

305 to 350 using a rebuild kit?

I have this 350 sitting in my garage outta of a 91 z28 auto. I have a 305 tpi 5 speed. I dont want to spend alot right now so I was thinking bout just getting a rebuild kit for the 350 and a zz4 cam 1.6 rockers and having the heads done with some shortie headers. will have to tune this? And also are the rebuild kits from summit reliable?
