Re: HELP Vortec/SLP runner injector PROBLEM!
Our problem was that the runner was forcing the injector upward and sideways. We didn't have the clearance we needed in that little sliver of a space between the injector and the fuel rail and then between the injector and the runner.
there's physically no room for the injector plug on #7 when the runner is installed. We tried everything we could think of, but we just couldn't get it to fit. It seems my only option is to grind material off the inside of the runner

I`m about to put aTPIS bigmouth manifold and slp runners.I dont have an answer for you but I`ve been doing alot of searching and havnt seen this problem before.I would advise against grinding any material off the runner to get it to fit.Are you using stock injectors? You sure the runners are on the proper sides?

Re: HELP Vortec/SLP runner injector PROBLEM!
you have to have the runner backwards.. never had a issue with the injectors being to big.. what injectors are they.. show a pic of the fit problem.. don't grind

Dork.
To all that have helped thus far:
We had the runners on the correct sides. I took a look at it again this morning after a good night's sleep and still couldn't figure it out. Like I said in my PM to David, the runner was actually forcing the #7 injector up and to the left.
David mentioned that someone somewhere mentioned something about them possibly being Corvette fuel rails and that being the case, they would be different from the stock Camaro/Firebird fuel rails. I don't know anything about that, but this morning I did notice that his fuel rails are different from the ones in my GTA in that they are noticeably wider.
I ended up putting his car back to stock for him this morning so he can at least drive it. He's all good now, just need to try and figure out this little installation issue before he tries it again.
And David, I really wouldn't recommend grinding down the runner. I was joking about that. Those runners I sold you have been ported so much I don't even know how thin those walls are. We could have cut a notch out, but I've never welded aluminum before. That might be your ultimate answer, unless you can find some stock fuel rails to replace yours with (assuming that's the problem).
