Code 32

87 350/TPI...Runs GREAT.

EGR open command did not change the fuel mixture when the command was given during off idle operation. EGR opening should cause the mixture to be slightly richer because of the low oxygen content of exhaust gas.

WTF? Cause? Cure?

Great timing...Inspection next month.

Re: Code 32

You're looking at the error code for the wrong year. On your '87 it means the temp switch on the EGR was already showing as closed when the engine started. It should be open until the EGR is ordered to open.

It could be switch or maybe you caught the wire under the edge of the valve cover like I've done a couple times. :-)

Re: Code 32

I haven't touched anything under the hood in the last week, except for checking my fluid levels.

And it came on, just as I got home and was backing in & parking, so the engine was plenty warm, after a 30 min drive.....

Just found this....Gotta read it over. Lowdown on Code 32
