trouble with the tpi

trouble with the tpi

to start off i bought a cam for my 88 t/a gta 305 tpi. i didnt have enought power. so i go to do the install not knowing i had to take the lifters out.so i get round to going to take the lintake and whole tpi system off and damn i must have broke every vac line there was and the heater controll valve and this hole time every thing that has to do with with the smog system is in the way so i live in florida and we dont have emissions down here so bye bye to all the smog lins and crap so i get the intake off and find a whole hand full of sludge under my intake just chilling on my lifters and push rods so i clean that put get the old cam out get the new cam in and the timing chain does not fit on my timing gear on my new cam!!!!! so i tried and use the stock gear and it does not fit on the cam so what do i do?

update i have got the cam in i got a new timimg chain and timing grears and i got all of that on and my crank bolt some how got messed up and i cant find anothe one.

Your 88 GTA should have a roller cam. Did you buy a flat-tappet cam and that's why the timing chain didnt fit?

Second, its still a federal law that your emissions devices must remain on the car. Some time in the future, thanks to our current administration, you can look forward to mandatory smog checks across all 50 states.

think i bought a 1st gen cam because the the thurst plat tht hold the cam in i had to make the center larger to fit over
