High idle, timing questions.

I have swapped in a tpi motor in my jeep. 91 Camaro motor-stock, 52 mm throttle body, all new sensors, stock exhaust manifolds.

It fired up and is running well, but the idle is about 1200 rpms. That is with the timing advanced 10 (after) tdc.

I do not think I have any vaccum leaks.

Do I have to do something special with the throttle position sensor? Could that be causing it.

Q: Why are you running the timing so retarded?
