Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

This is a '58 Chevy truck that my boss and I are building for a customer. Motor is a cammed 327 ci with a TPI that we tricked out a bit.

We're not finished with it yet, still have some wiring and misc. fabrication to do........

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

Awesome truck!! I always liked the old Apache pick up's (especially 58's). The carbon fiber treatment on the runner and upper plenum looks really trick actually for being just a stock tpi set up! What did you use to pull that off? Personally I would want a little more carbon fiber under the hood (maybe valve covers?) after seeing how that tpi looks, but its stellar as is. Good work!

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

Thanks! Keep in mind, we're not done yet..........

The truck is actually a Cameo, not Apache (different beds). Carbon fiber is painted on with a pattern.

The carbon fiber painted onto the intake manifold looks really nice.
I wish I had the will and patience to make my engine bay even half as clean as that truck!

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

I have the throttle body apart right now because I'm either going to paint it or polish it. I'm going to use an LT-1 throttle body because it utilizes the correct sensors to plug into the harness/ECM that we're using (MEFI 4 ram-jet harness/ECM).

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

I've been building cars for about 13 or 14 years, just sorta had the knack for it I guess......

As far as the Trans-AM, if you like the car and it's fixable without a whole lot of rust or body/frame damage, then I say go for it!

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

We may end up changing the valve covers for carbon fiber as well. I will probably end up painting the throttle body.

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

The carbon fiber parts are stock TPI parts that were painted with a pattern.

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

Thanks! We think the owner will feel the same when he see's it!

I'll have some updated pics this weekend or so.

We had to use a modified '93 LT-1 throttle body which is installed now and the computer is mounted, air filter installed, and coil mounted....

Still need to finish up the wiring, make and the run the braided fuel lines, make a hard line for PCV to throttle body and some other little stuff....

She's runnin' and on the road. We changed to the new style SVO injectors and went ahead with the carbon fiber valve covers and breathers, plus a couple of other misc. mods.....

Re: Cool TPI project..... Enjoy!

Pattern was done by spraying base coat and then pattern place on top of base coat in darker color.

Headers are jet-hot coated like the rest of the custom dual exhaust that we built. They wont rust....
