87 TA 5.0 TPI Standard( Bucking/skips

Hey,

I'll try to explain as best as i can.Recently bought this car.It bucks alittle when taking off.Mainly 1st gear, but in second too when cold.Mainly below 2000 Rpm or less, and seems to do it worse when it's cold..But once warmed up,( after half hr of driving, not as bad) I know the IAC Valve was replaced new.But have no idea..Not familiar with TPI.And no engine light...Somebody said it may be the throttle cable sticking??? Any tips would be great!!!

Thanks,
Mark

Re: 87 TA 5.0 TPI Standard( Bucking/skips

could be a misfire combined with some normal backlash from a geared car. With an auto any slop (backlash) is taken up through the torque convertor. listen to the car idle and if you hear any hiccup, youve got problems, then rev it to the problem area and see if you can hear any misfire... thats what i would do and have done before.
