TBI to TPI - Car Swap
TBI to TPI - Car Swap
Ok, I have been going over this in my head but I am not sure either way. I have a 1988 Trans Am that I put a 350TBI engine into, I also have a 1988 GTA. What will I need to do to convert the 350TBI engine to a 350TPI engine?
Re: TBI to TPI - Car Swap
The GTA is already setup for TPI since it came stock with it. All I would think I would need is to put the manifold on the engine and slap it in since the GTA already has a 350TPI setup.

Try the stickey at the top of the page:

I did it on a 305 tbi rs and it worked great.

Re: TBI to TPI - Car Swap
Keep getting "address not found" for that link, kinda the downfall of the ... in the address bar eh. The thing is this, the ECM/Harness is already in the GTA. Can I just bolt the TPI intake onto the TBI block to put the block into the GTA and drive it.
Im not trying to make the entire car TBI to TPI just converting the TBI BLOCK to make it TPI.

Intake, harness, sensors, fuel line connectors and ECM. Maybe a dual fan set-up if you want to go that route. You can just bolt it up, plug it in and play.
