GREAT INTAKE SETUP
Hey,
I have searched around this site over and over numerous times and i see the same thing over n over everyone in here seems to be converting TPI to CARB or doing the "ULTIMATE TPI" upgrade. Well I decided to go against the grain and i have come up with my own SIMPLE clean and i must say sexy intake system.
(it is a DUAL 4" setup just for refrence)
I also welded and extension on the upper rad hose gaurd to keep the center air filter from ever being able to bounce into the fan while driving and it is all held in place with brackets.
Check it out and leave comments please

Re: GREAT INTAKE SETUP
Its a nice setup, but doesn't seem radically different from what an L69 air cleaner would do for your TBI engine....?

Re: GREAT INTAKE SETUP
It looks good and all, but wouldn't what setup suck in a lot of hot air from the engine? It looks like a bird to me, why don't you see if you can get a intake like a camaro to try and draw the cold air in or, cut a hole just in front of (what i think is) the coolant jug on the drivers side and have the filter stick out the hole some, and run the tubing with some nice and smooth tubing with foam tape around it to insulate the tubing from the heat of the engine... Just a little food for thought.

Re: GREAT INTAKE SETUP
It's well built, but my concern would be that it is drawing hot engine bay air instead of cold outside air. You could also potentially pick up eddy currents from the fan that may make the car idle funny, but your filters look like they are far enough back from the fan to prevent this (still, if you get a goofy idle you'll know the first place to look).
It's definately better looking that what came on it stock.

Re: GREAT INTAKE SETUP
Thanks. Yea i did take some air temp readings and surprisingly it dosent pick up alot of hot engine air sure it is a little warmer then the outside tempature but lmao really you also have to look at the QUANTITY of air aswell remember that little stock scoop you have its like 3" wide and like 3/4" tall. The thing that I found most surprising the one in the center stayed the coolest :S I think it might actually have to do with those little air dams on the hood maybe?

88 T T
Your 305 is only capable of pulling in so much air, so unfortunately your system while it looks good is overkill. You would still be better off performance wise, with 1 intake and plumbing it outside the engine compartment.
In your side bar you have listed as TPI (Tuned Port Injection ) The picture you show is a TBI ( Throttle Body Injection ) Do you have 2 cars ?
