will fuel mileage be decreased w/ the egr removed?

I don't think the gain or loss is much of anything. I have one that someone removed the egr from. I am sorting out the other driveability issues and the missing egr and the unknowns are complicating the issue. Mine is an 89 and if you remove your egr, keep it all together and give me a price for the lot of it. If I take the car back to TX I will need to put all back together.
if i take it off im going to keep it just in case the Obamanation does something screwy in the furture of emissions testing all states.

The only likely effect is increased detonation at part throttle.

can this be prevented by using 93 octane? i run 93 anyway b/c when i bought the car it had a hypertech chip in it which requires the running of 93.Originally Posted by jv9999
