i tried to install my ebay yellow top injectors today without much luck. they are supposed to be direct replacements but they are about 1/8 an inch shorter than my 305 injectors. at least i think they are 305 injectors. part number 028015027. i was going to double the little spacers underneath the bottom oring. think this will be enough. i was thinking of shaving some off the manifold to make the fuel rail set lower on the injector. any ideas?

Re: help with 305 injector replacement
I would call whoever makes them or a company that distributes them before I started cutting up my intake manifold.

Just my 2 cents.

ebay injectors, the guy swears they fit with no problems. well mine have a problem and it's because they are a hair too short. i hope doubling the spacer washer will help. if not i'll have to shave about an 1/8 in off the mounting towers for the fuel rail.

Yes but ebay didn't make them. I would contact the manufacturer.

the injectors are the bosch 4 hole type. we got them in. we cut the ruel rail studs down a little and removed the extra washer. thanks for the replies

Here are the installation instructions for the bosch design lll fuel injectors in the event that you find them to be loose or a little too short. Hope this helps everyone.

All you need to do is install a second o-ring on to the bottom of the fuel injector. THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF THE 1/8 inch in the length that you are missing.!! very simple, you install them into the intake manifold first ( make sure that you do not push them in too far). Then install into the fuel rail. Just follow these simple instructions and the problem with the injectors will be solved. GUARANTEED!! A copy of these instructions are included with every set of Design lll's that we sell along with the additional o-rings that you may need.
No modifying or milling necessary!!

Re: help with 305 injector replacement
doubling the washers was our second choice but i felt better shaving the fuel rail mounts and getting a tighter fit. no way they are going to leak now. thanks for all the replies
