Please Help - New Gauges on 1988 Iroc With TPI
I have a 1988 Iroc-Z TPI T5 car that I'm retrofitting with a T56. The '88 has cable driven speedo and the T56 provides electronic output. I've purchased a new set of electronic gauges to replace the stock cluster. But I've read that some, if not all, require a speed signal to the ECM. The write up on VSS sensors over at JTR touches on a lot of GM vehicles from the 80's and 90's but doesn't actually address my '88.
So, does anyone have a definitive answer whether I need to provide a massaged VSS signal directly to the ECM on my car? I want everything to function properly. Thanks in advance.
