need some sensor,switch help
hey guys im trying to save some cash on an $80 cold start switch and need someone to check something for me so i can know for shure without haveing to spend 80 bucks for nothing ok anyone with a good working cold start switch i need you to test it by hooking an ohm meter to it set it to 200 and take a cold reading mine was about 33.4 or so then put it in some boiling water and see how long it takes to change its reading and what it changes to mine took about 30 sec and changed to about 66.5 or so but on the switch it says "35c 8 sec" so im guessing that it should only take 8 sec to change insted of 30 and probly a diff ohm reading too because my injector isnt kicking on but its good because i hook 12 v to it and it shot out fuel thanks.

The cold start control has a thermal switch AND a time delay. Without the delay, every restart would include another shot of starting fuel, and flooding would quickly become a problem. Metering the two leads on the device will not allow you to test the device effectively. You need to apply voltage to the heater terminals to activate the "time" portion of the device. The internal heater warms the temperature switch and opens it until the element has cooled to below 35ēC.
The tan wire on the CSC provides the ground for the cold start injector. The purple wire gets 12V from the CRANK fuse when the starter is operated and operates a heater element within the control. The heater element heats the temperature switch so that the CSC will not ground the start injector on subsequent start attempts. Once the engine has warmed up, the thermal element will be heated by the coolant to prevent grounding the start injector. If the engine is allowed to cool below 35ēC again, the CSC will ground the start injector for another crank attempt.
