What o2 sensor for Edelbrock Headers?

Hey all,

I have Edelbrock headers on my 305 tpi.. they are pretty old as they are completely brown. Not sure about the oxygen sensor tho but I want to replace it just in case now that I'm starting to tune...

I bought a single wire o2 sensor already for like 25 bucks but I fear that I may need the 3 wire heated one.. It's located on the driver side header, so I don't think it's too downstream..

Is the single wire good enough for the ECM to get an accurate read on these headers??

Thanks!
-Marc

Re: What o2 sensor for Edelbrock Headers?

I use a Bosch 3 wire for '92-'93 LT1 vettes (p/n 13077) and have had never had any troubles. I don't see any real trouble running a 1 wire unit but from what I've read in the past a heated unit gives more accurate readings. How true that is I really don't know but I can say I can tell a difference in the way mine runs with the 3 wire versus the 1 wire.

Yeah I got the bosch 1 wire for my 305 tpi... I heard they are good for making oxygen sensors... I'd like to have the best reading possible but if it won't make any difference between the 1 or 3 wire with my edelbrock headers then i won't waste the 80$...

Thnx!

I used a one wire with no problem. I have since converted to a heated one but found no real differance.
