TPI problem

I have a 1988 trans am with a 350 tpi mostly stock
In the morning when i go to work my car idles a little high around 500 rpm to high and in the afternoon it well go around 1000 rpm to high i have to tap the gas to get to come down and sometimes as im driveing i have the cruse control on but i dont i took it to a friends shop so he could put it on a scanner
to see if the was any codes the was nothing he sudgested to try some typ of carb cleaner to see if the is any vacume leaks i tryed this and still cant find anything HELP

Pull your computer down from the pass. side of the dash, pull the aluminum case off it and flex the PC board around while the car is idling high.

If the idle comes down while you're flexing it, it's the computer. Just get a reman. from the dealer...

Very common problem with all the TPI cars...

Very common problem with all the TPI cars...
DO NOT touch the computer while idling or when there is power going through it....if its not bad...the static charge from your body will fry it...those things only operate on about 5v in most places and static electricity just from your body will put out way more than that...the only way to truly condemn a PCM is to go down through a list of diagnosis and eliminate everything else...but again don't just grab it and flex it...you will fry it...

no i found a better way than grabing it Monday im putting on a friends scanner
