Making it run better
When I bought my car in February, it would start if it was cold, but would not once it warmed up, would die at red lights (once in a car wash!), and got about 10 miles to the gallon highway. Since then, using the information on this site, I have replaced the spark plugs, wires, cleaned the iac valve, and replaced the fuel injectors. Some jobs were bigger than others, but the car is getting about 18 miles to the gallon now (mostly in town) and idles smoothly.
I've done all the work myself. Replacing the fuel injectors was the biggest deal, and I wouldn't have gotten it done without the information on this site and a great vendor in Jon from FIC. I am still sorting things out, but the car seems completely reliable - at least it starts everytime I get in it now. I had to listen to a lot of shadetree mechanic types telling me I was wasting my money on the new fuel injectors.
The only question I have is whether or not I should be satisfied with the idle. The engine idles at about 650 rpm when its warm, and I'm wondering if that sounds normal.
