belt problem

I recently had put the original serpentine system on my car. I have every part and i bought the new belt. for some reason after i got it all hooked up the belt just seems to be way too loose even with the tensioner fully tightened. it idles without squeeking, but when you give it any throrrle a horrible squeal apears. should I do anything to my pulley surfaces? at the top of the belt it has so much play it will touch the belt on the water pump. please help!

Re: belt problem

Do you have all stock sized pullys? And the AIR pump is installed?

Re: belt problem

if all is as you say the problem is #1 wrong size belt , or #2 mis-routed belt . good luck .
