Start-up problems, sorta..
Hey gang,
Well within the short time that I've had my 88' Iroc I love her more and more everyday. But aside from the man love. She's starting to concern me. I bought the car back in March from my ex-coworker, since his retirement, and maybe about a couple months ago she’s started acting up.
So far to this date, I've changed out the engine oil and tranny oil with Valvoline synthetics. For electronics I’ve added a new hypertech cap, rotor, and coil, NGK v-power plugs, and Moroso Ultra 40 wires. Engine wise edelbrock shorty headers, with Magnaflow free-flowing cat and s/s free-flowing exhaust system.
Here's the problem, no living in Hawaii we don't really get cold morning, but reasonably hot afternoons. What I'm noticing is that when I start her up she'll fire right up like a shot if it's the first time of the day or if she's been running recently, like maybe with an hour. But anytime after that it’ll take me awhile to crank her over. What gives?
I was planning on eventually changing out the fuel pump, and slap on an adj. fuel pressure regulator and filter. You think one of these items might be the culprit?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
