86 iroc 305 tpi start up question
If it has been a few days since it has been started it needs to be cranked alot to start, you need to keep stopping the cranking and let the fuel pump cycle and after doing this about 4 or 5 time it will start. My neighbour is a mechanic and he says it is the coolant temp sensor making the car think it is warm when it is not and thus the car is flooding on start up . When it does start and gets warm it starts all the time easily then. But my idle is also very erratic sounds like I have a real heavy cam in there which to the best of my knowledge it doesn't
Any suggestions?

Well first do you have and check engine codes? Next ide start by checking the fuel pressure or trying to spray some starter fluid in the intake and see if it fires right up. I kinda doubt its the coolent sensor because it would do just the opposite of what hes saying its doing. Cars need to run alittle rich on start up when there cold. Your particular set up uses whats called a cold start injector or the 9th injector to spray extra fuel in when its cold starting. If the car thought it was warm when it was cold it wouldnt fire the injector causeing it to run lean on start up / hard starting when cold. Reguardless however that still dosnt explain your rough running condition when hot. So lets start with the basics test the fuel pressure and well go from there.
