383 advice on my build

right now i have a 355 on a stand just ordered the eagle 383 flat top rotating assembly. i have a holly contender dual plane manifold with a holly 650 double pumper. i was wondering what kind of heads and cam to put in it. its going to be a daily driver but doesnt have to pass emissions. i have a 9bolt with 373s. debating on weather to use a turbo 400 for 100$ or use my 700r4. so the question is what kind of heads and cam will do justice. i want max horsepower on pumpgas.

Re: 383 advice on my build

Better intake and carb would be best to take advantage of a 383 with good heads and healthy cam.

With that current carb/intake setup i wouldnt go too crazy with the heads/cam setup. Flat tops will make around 11 to 1 compression with 64cc chambers so you will need aluminum heads to run pumpgas.

Your looking for AFR 195s, Canfield 195's, Brodix race rite or IK200's, Dart pro 1 platinum 200's, Trickflow 195's etc. Those are the better aluminum heads out there.

Is it a roller cam block or is it going to be flat tappet?
