Re: performance upgrades???
Hi, can you tell us what type of engine and year car you have? If you don't know look at the eight digit in the VIN number. That will help the other members here give you some good info. Look at this site for help decoding VIN.

Most of the v-8's in our cars had restrictive exhausts and intakes. Best upgrade would be new exhaust system from headers back (headers, y-pipe, high flow cats, exhaust pipe and mufflers). Hooker 2055 headers and Y-pipe seem to be the best. It is hard to run a true dual exhaust setup under our cars since there is little room and low ground clearance (it can be done). A single 3" exhaust pipe is good for most applications unless you are running really high HP numbers (400+).
After that you get into more engine swapping with porting existing intake or new intake, new cam, new heads, etc. Some people will say to upgrade your suspension too with aftermarket lower control arms, panhard bars, subframe connectors, etc. Please search around on site as this question has come up a lot and many threads exist. They should bring you up to speed on what you can do to upgrade engine performance. If you get into intake, heads and cam they will need to be carefully selected to work together towards your performance goal (high HP vs high tourqe for example). Good luck.
