can the tpi be used on another motor with mods to go with the engine change? i have other motors that would be great replacement once the time comes one is an old street stock motor i ran quick specs... 358 cuin 4 bolt block stock 3.48 stroke with 5.7 rods speed pro coated hyper pistons comp .501 magnum cam 244 @ 50* 2500-6500 rpm (i know ill need to change its for oval track lol) puts out just shy of 11:1 compression with 906 vortec heads 1.94/1.50 stainless valves with 1.6 roller rockers... ran an rpm airgap with this and a AED 750HP carb... it knew how to get up and go lol... i have seen some vortec threads but i was wondering on some new input as how the tpi setup takes to it and what kind of mods ill need or should do... the machine work isnt an issue its just will it work is it worth it?.....

 

Must change your lower intake because of the vortec heads. And definitly yank that cam. By putting it under a tpi your doing nothing but hurting the top end unless you buy a stealth ram setup or some slp runners and hog the hell out of them. Tpi will run out of breath around 4800 rpms, would definetly recommend a better intake setup and bigger injectors (24#). Then an adjustable fuel pressure regulater and a good fuel pump. Then a good tune on the computer and ur set.
