Ignition problem...going crazy!!
87 tpi Iroc. It has a pretty good skip under throttle, heres what i did so far...New plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. Now after I replaced these the car ran great for like 2 days and the misfire came back. I than replaced the ignition module and when I took the two wires off the module the plug that the two wires are in crumbled in my hand. So I just put the two wires on the module and put it all back together and not it runs worse than ever. Do you guys think I should put silicone or dielectric grease around those 2 wires? Can the bare wires be arching on the base of the distributor? I am at a complete blank why the car ran great and now its skipping again. I am pretty sure its ingnition related. I have been around motors for along time and I know a skip when I feel it..lol I am just new to this tpi stuff, is there something I am overlooking? I even took the shaft out of the dizzy and cleaned all the rust off of it, thinking maybe it was that..( the car sat for 10 yrs) I am drawing a blank here....any ideas what to look for?..Thanks guys!!
