350 carb to lb9 tpi swap

i currently have a 1972 350 4 bolt bored .40 over in my 1990 camaro with a carb. i have reently accuired an lb9 engine from a transam. i was wondering what i would have to do to put the upper end onto my 350 block. i want to get rid of the carb and i have the computer and wires 4 the lb9. would i be shooting my self in the foot putting this injection system on to my 350 block?

Re: 350 carb to lb9 tpi swap

If you install 22-24PPH injectors, your result will be a L98 with more cubes. Torque and fuel efficiency should improve. Starting should be more consistent.

The 1990 body should have (or should have had) most of the necessary wiring in place. You will need a fuel pump delivering 43 PSI, hoses to connect the lines to the fuel rails, and a fuel return line to the tank. You will need an inline fuel filter. An ECM will have to be installed. You will need the later style distributor, detonation sensor, O² sensor in the exhaust, and would probably benefit from electric fans. Almost everything else you will need should be attached to the intake and plenum.

You will also need to consider the transmission, since an auto may need a TCC lockup signal and have a 4th gear switch to be connected to the ECM.
