I have recently built a new motor for my 92 Z and now that it is done I am severly dissapointed. The car does not run well at all! Sometimes it surges sometimes not and there is a serious lack of power. I have been trying to access the ecm to no avail with a couple different scan tools and software but they all say no ecm data. I have been able to retrieve codes by useing the jumper but the ecm does not flash anything except code 12 unless I do something to make it like unplug a sensor. I have gone through all my grounds and ohmed every wire on the ecm connectors. I have also replaced tps, all temp sensors, o2 sensor, oil pressure, knock sensor and the egr valve. Could the ads chip which was in the car when I bought it cause this problem? I read that with the speed density systems you have to reprogram the chip to get them to run well but I can't even access the ecm to see what it is doing and I thought the motor would at least as good as the old 181000 mile motor did! I have added afr 180 heads, zz4 cam, tpis bigmouth manifold, hooker headers, ported the plenum, and bosch III #22 injectors. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am out of ideas.
