Code 32! can I remove my egr and block it?
I have an 85 vette and it is showing a code 32. can I remove the faulty egr and use one of those block off plates? And will it throw a code with no egr? Or should I just buy a new egr and install it?

1) If you remove anything from the EGR system, you will keep seeing code 32. It is a code to indicate that the EGR system is not functioning correctly.
2) If you want to disable the EGR system, you need to change it on the memcal in the ECM. You will need a tuning laptop and a new EPROM chip for that.
3) There are many components in the EGR system, any of them can be faulty. Instead of throwing money at the problem and swapping part by part, hoping that it solves your problem, diagnose it first to see WHICH component is causing the code 32. I know from experience that diagnosis is crucial, otherwise you'll be chasing your tail. My EGR had a BOLT stuck in one of the hoses, from the previous hillbilly dumbass ******* owner.
There are multiple write-ups on the EGR system here on TGO, just do a search and you'll find lots of information. Follow the diagnostic diagram and it will help you find the cause of your problem.
Hope this helps.

Are you getting the code every day around town, or just on the highway? If its around town, just replace the actual EGR. If it's on the highway, it's the EGR temp sensor. They don't make a replacement for it anymore.
