Hey diablo I am having the same issues. It started a about 6 months ago and seemed to only be a problem when I was running the A/C and would accelerate from a stop. If I did a very "light" pull away from a stop it would be fine. Now I am having it all the time when I am just doing city driving. I am suspecting the TPS, but haven't had a chance to really dig into it. The only reason I am suspecting it is just because of age and the TPS basically being used over a small "window" of its travel. If I find anything out I will definetly pass it along.

... it could also be a sticking EGR valve.

Re: Hesitation on light acceleration

add just a heads up if you try to take the egr of the car with out taking the throttle body off it is a pain in the @$$ !!! i think it takes a 1 1/4 but i found it easer to use channel lock. did scarch the pant off the egr a bit but that is ok by me

Re: Hesitation on light acceleration

Here is a link to another post that I started in regards to my EGR valve replacement that goes right along with the hesitation problem. I am convinced now that my EGR may have had some impact to my overall gas mileage; however, my root problem with the hesitation was in fact my fuel pump:
