timing an l98

im sure this has been posted a million times but i can not find it but can someone please tell me the proper procedure to timing an l98 i have a timing light an everything to do it pictures would be very helpful because im a very visual person

Drive the car long enough to reach operating temp. Disconnect the EST (tan wire/black stripe, single connector near the A/C box), loosen the distributor hold down bolt. Start the engine, set the timing to spec or your desired setting, tighten the clamp and check timing again. Turn car off, reconnect EST, disconnect battery cable for a few minutes to clear the codes, then reconnect and test drive.

ok is the est near the ac or brake booster ive been told both i need a definate answer

Near the ac box, a single tan wire with a weatherpac conn on it, it breaks out of the large wire loom.
