Can I use a 400 Block for a TPI setup?
Can I use a 400 Block for a TPI setup?
I am wanting to put a tpi setup in my 92 camaro. I have a 350 tpi roller block, but I also have a 400 sbc block in the corner. Can I use the 400 with the factory harness? Do I need the newer block due to the knock sensor boss? Is there any way that I can bypass this and use an older style block or can I attach a knock sensor another way to the block?

If the block is good and usable, then you can use it.
The KS is not a big deal. You could mount it near the oil filter or down at the lower coolant drain hole on the block.
Were you trying to say that your 400 block had no tapped holes in either place?

I never checked it that close. I have had it for a while and forgot I had it. I found it this weekend in the corner under some other parts that I was cleaning out. That is what happens when you put too much stuff in one corner. lol

Thanks, I will check it out this weekend. I was mostly interested in a 400 due to the torque and what I have read, a tpi should help it with the right tuning.
