Re: tpi and lt1 air foil
I would probably say they'd work if you had other mods, such as an aftermarket intake, headers and such.... on a stock, probably not the desire you'd like... but then again maybe they do work... I think it prevents turbulence or something ... don't remember...

Re: tpi and lt1 air foil
an air foil I don't think moves more air, it settles it down ... my train of thought is, how can a 60 dollar part compete with a 300 dollars part such as headers or an intake manifold... I think you would see the numbers it advertises if you allow it to do its job... I don't think you'll see a 5 horsepower gain, but like I said before, perhaps you will... .. lets wait and see what other members who have used this device have to say...

Axle/Gears: not a one tire fire, thank god!
Re: tpi and lt1 air foil
It reduces turbulence and makes it more smooth for the air to enter the throttle body. If your car is completely stock, all you will get is better throttle response. I use the piece from TPIS and noticed a big difference but also I'm quite far from stock. Don't expect huge gains if you are stock or have a 305, try headers and exhaust, AFPR, or intake and runners instead.

On a flow bench, the foil increases flow

On a dyno, no power is made from either TPI or LT1. Spend your money elsewhere

Re: tpi and lt1 air foil
The effect of the air foil is increased cfm (more air incoming than without the air foil). More air means you should add more fuel (most don't and there's the issue).
TPIS commonly sells the airfoil with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to avoid ECM calibration rework.
Many others have copied the TPIS air foil and sell it alone without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Don't expect much gain out of an air foil alone (without adding fuel).
Regardless, even on a stock engine, some would consider the small gains to be worth the money spent. Obviously if you're looking for big gains, focus on exhaust, heads, and/or cam.
