i want to make this car faster was thinking about a 383 strocker or something in that nature.

i dont know where to start on this car. im looking for a 12 sec tpi intake i dont want to change it anymore from what it already is. i dont like n2o so thats a no. i will stick to my 700r4 will not change either. i do have a posi rear disk rear end.

Re: 350 TPI

Hey Vettsfan, I'm the guy who delivers the big white boxes with the blue square and star on the side- usually containing steak, chicken, and ice cream via Umm Said and Doha nice to see another sandbox player here.

My 92 set up is similar to what you want to achieve. There's many ways to go about improving these cars. I'm sure you'll get lots of input from people more knowledgable than me. But I thought I'd share my experience of trial and error too.

If you don't want to go into a whole rebuild you can do it in stages and learn as you go. My 1st things were high flow airfilters, a airfoil for the throttlebody, radiator/cooling system flush with new fluid (I had a rusty plugged system and it ran cooler afterwards) Made the car feel peppie.

Next was headers and a tune- worked really well for a while - then got tired of it. Then went to a cam, new fuel pump and adjustable regulator to maximize the injectors I had and underdrive pulleys. (another tune for the upgrades)

Car ran well, and what I thought was fast until I blew up the stock L98- we're talking hole it block- finished done.

Enter - Fastburn 385 (385hp/ 385 fttq) 350ci crate motor. Rebuilt the 700r4 and loosened stall converter to 2500rpm. (The transmission guy said it should be good for up to 400-425 hp- any more any you have to go with higher $ internals) The whole set up is now being choked to death with stock tpi and a stock L98 tune.

If you are lucky enough to keep your L98 I'd keep upgrading the TPI (Which I'm also now doing) - next would be heads and headers for you.

Ported- internally polished plenum. TPIS large tube runners (from the research i've done, siamesed don't flow as much). High flow baseplate. Larger throttlebody, 24# injectors, long tube headers- and a tune.

I looked into the 383 route. In the end I decided to stay with the 350 because I wanted the stock looking TPI system and from what I've learned you really can not have a 383 perform up to it's potential with a stock/ stocktype system.

Good luck any way you go.

thanks for your help the car did come with 24lb injectors i totally forgot about that and a custom chip for pcm the car was high 13 sec car if the right temp and perfect driver but with n2o they said they where high 12s im not so sure about that but they said it was. right now its got lots of cosmedic detaling we doing to it and my bro just offered me last night a more than reasonable price for the iroc-z that i might not reject.

so im going back to my 91 rs/ss lsx project thanks

and the funny thing i was thinking of upgrading the heads to the vette heads,.....sad part i had just place a an order for new long tubes and a full exhaust system with 3.73 gears, and the 3in wide hood
