MAF Replacement on SD Conversion
So, once you convert to SD, the MAF is no longer needed and can be removed. Has anyone found a good item to use to put in its place?
Obviously one could get a SD snorkel to do it, but I am looking for something cheap and relatively easy to find. The two options I have checked out are a 3" exhaust pipe which was too small (3" OD) and PVC which was too big (3-1/2" OD). The MAF has a 3-1/8" OD. Another option would be to gut the MAF, but since it is working, it seems a waste given how much they cost.
Anyway, any ideas would be welcome.
P.S. - I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything in the stickies or via search, so my apologies if this is a repeat question.

Re: MAF Replacement on SD Conversion
Thanks for the reply Bone. I am actually using the Hawk's "Ram Air" boxes (yes I know they are not really a ram air system, but they do have their benefits) so I need to keep the snorkel setup.
I went to Autozone and found the answer to my own question by purchasing a 3A Racing/3 in. i.d. x 18 in. length tail pipe extension (part number 17628) for just a few bucks. The flange on one end gives just enough additional diameter to perfectly fit into the hardened air filter intake and the bellows flex enough to clamp to the 3" end. Just need to paint it and I should be in good shape.
Would still be interested to see what other solutions people have found.
