89 iroc z
I have been reading your forum and its great. I finally decided to join. I have an 89 camaro 305 tpi the car turns on but idles really rough then turns off. then the check engine light turns on. it smells like unburned gas right after it turns off. the car will also not respond when i turn it on n push the gas but nothing happens. Whats wrong with it?

Re: 89 iroc z
could be a bad injector..or MAF problems..unplug the MAF and see if it will run.
incase u dont know
the MAF is the plastic peice in the middle of the Intake hose.

Re: 89 iroc z
Check for vacuum leaks. Sounds like this might be your issue. If you replaced injectors last year, maybe you left something loose. When did this problem start? I would also check fuel pressure to make sure the pump is ok, then I would adjust the TPS and IAC sensors. Amazing how many guys are having rough running issues this week. Must be the nice weather and everyone's bringing their cars out. Anyway, there are a couple things for you to start with. Also check for a bad ground, there are only a couple, but if one is not connected to a good ground or the wire is cut, it could cause some driveability issues.

The last couple days when i started the car the check engine would turn on but would later turn off after it warmed up. I did not replace the injectors i had a shop do it. I will go n check out some of your suggestions. Thanks for the help guys.

Re: 89 iroc z
Check the resistance with an ohm meter, pull the plugs if you have wet cylinders you have leaky injectors, or they may just be clogged/dirty.
You can check your sensors also.

Re: 89 iroc z
I started the car today n while it was cold i was able to give it gas with no problems it was running fine for about a minute or two then it just turned off. Could it be the injectors since it just came out of nowhere. it ran perfectly fine last week with no misfires or anything. The car only has about 77K miles on it. could it be the ignition module. i really dont feel like spending 100 bucks on each injector.
