can i just undo the fuel lines to the fuel rail. and then run a hose to a fuel bottle and turn the Key on, it should pump right into the bottle..Right?

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
i've done this before but you'll need to jumper the relay to keep the pump on.

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
that would be the ones on the fire wall just in front of the drivers side front window.. with the Bump gard..
ill unplug the relay..and use a jump wire on the power wire to Pump.
this should Keep it on.. and in turn pump out the fuel..right?
this is the first time it's been taken apart after Lingenfelters did the last install...lol

You should be able to apply 12 volts to the "G" terminal on the ALDL connector under the dash by your right knee, and then turn the key to "on", and it should pump the tank dry!!!

I need to drain my tank too before the new engine goes in. But I'm carbed so no fancy electric pump tricks for me :/

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
A couple of ways for you to drain your tank is the old siphon way, or remove the tank!!
You could use an electric fuel pump, if you had one laying around........!!!!

If you chose the siphon way, get a self priming siphon at your local auto parts store ($3.00???), gas tastes crappy, and it's not really good for you!!!!

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
could it be that easy?.. take a single 12 Volt wire. and slip it over the G Terminal, on the ALDL, turn on the Key, and the fuel will flow into My track Bottles,(when set to with Line)

Yes, it should be that easy!!
I don't see any dust????

I hope that I don't see any glow in the sky either!!!

Be careful, sparks and gas fumes don't really go together real well!!

P.S. Looks like a real plumbers nightmare!!!

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
For sure not dropping the tank. Too big of a headache. The gas has been in there for like 3 years with stabilizer in it but I'm not sure how much that helps after that long

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
3 years with stabilizer........no problem!!! I had gas in my car for 6 years with no fuel stabilizer, put in a new battery, turned the key, started right up, ran like a top, drove it to warm it up, and then passed a smog test with the 6 year old gas!!!
Smell the gas, if it smells okay...........!!!! I say run it!!! Once you start it, run it until it's good and hot, and then drive it, and fill her up with some super unleaded!!

P.S. Always store it with a full tank, oxygen has a way of oxidizing the gas, and then you have all types of problems!!!

Using the NOS.........kind of an unfair advantage...........oh well, every little bit helps!!

You have to maintain that original/sleeper look, gives you a bit more of an advantage, like a sneak attack!!

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
It's easy for you to pump it out, but WS6LOVE's gas is a little bit trickier, he doesn't have an electric fuel pump, so, it's the siphon, or drop the tank!!
I say, burn it through the engine!!!

Re: WANT TO DRAIN MY FUEL TANK.
I was plannning to try the siphone, but it's not always easy to get the hose in there. If that did t work I was actually planning on running the gas. It shouldn't take me long to burn thru a few gallons with my setup lol.
As far as sleeper goes.... You lost the chance to have that effect as soon as you got an f body haha. I used to drive an '83 v6 firebird with a crappy 2bbl and no exhaust on it to school everyday. It idled low and was loud so everyone thought I had a 'huge v8'. No one would even try me. I thought it was hilarious

Burn the gas!!!!

I had a 1979 Malibu with the 120 HP 267 V-8, tin can for a muffler, sounded good, but didn't spin a wheel unless you were on dirt or very wet pavement!!
Talk about a sleeper!!

A little less hood, and some window decals removed , and you'd be right there, the sleeper look!!!
