305 TBI to TPI with 7730 ECU??
So i have this 7730 ECU but im not sure if it is for 5.0 or 5.7 TPI
I have an 89 formula Firebird 5.0 TBI
i want to turn my TBI in to TPI
If i obtain a TPI system and wiring harness
Can i use this ECU if it is for 5.7 TPI or 5.0 TPI
I am still trying to obtain the :
Intake Manifold
Throttle Body
fuel rails
Wiring harness

As far as I know the 1227730 ECU can be used for both 5.0 and 5.7 TPI. The only difference between them is the PROM inside the ECU.

First of all, if you disconnect the O2 sensor, then you won't be able to even take the first hundred meters with your car. So DO NOT disconnect the O2 sensor.
The 5.7 TPI PROM is not suitable for 5.0 TPI without modifications. This means if you want to use that ECU on a 5.0 TPI engine, you'll have to change the PROM because for example the injector sizes are different, and of course a few more parameters as well.
