extrude hone stock vs. tpis bigmouth
So i'm planning a 383 build up and was wondering if you thought i should go extrude hone level 2 with the stock base or tpis bigmouth. i hear that the bigmouth is way over priced and only offers marginally better hp comparatively. I also plan on getting as&m runners and getting the whole extrude hone II package. also AFR 195s and comp xfi 268 hr13 are planned.
I AM NOT GOING TO UPGRADE TO SHORT RUNNER INTAKE. CAR IS 1 OF 592 B4C'S AND I WANT IT TO LOOK COMPLETELY STOCK. I UNDERSTAND THIS WILL LIMIT HP POTENTIAL BUT I'M MORE CONCERNED WITH STOCK APPEARANCE.
Sorry for the all caps but i always get told to go HSR. Nothing against the hsr and I'm tossing around ideas for one in my RS but this car will retain stock appearance

Well those big AS&M runners might be a giveaway, but I say get it all extrude honed. Try something different. It's nice to put a combo together yourself and reap the benefits once it's all said and done. I'm looking forward to getting some numbers off my ported lower intake and plenum with accel runners when the car is back on the road. I also went with the 268HR13, nice cam, very mild mannered, nice little lope.

yeah but the runners look stock unless you know exactly what the stock ones look like. there will be a couple giveaways to what lies beneath (like headers) but i want it as close to stock as will allow while still being safe and fast. There's going to be a roll bar and if you get on your belly and look at the suspension you'll be able to tell that there's been some extensive work in the name of traction and durability (12 bolt)

For a 383 I would siamise the stock base first before getting it honed ; allows each port to see two runners for a little more air flow and can't be seen
