Need Help Big Time!!!

I'll try to make this as short as possible. I just bought my first camaro with a tpi engine and i know nothing about them! When I got it home it started surging out of gear and it got to the point where it would die sometimes when it was in gear and idleing. I checked the inj. and they ohm a little low so i replaced them along with the egr valve, all the intake gaskets and a cracked vacuum line that was going to the egr solenoid.....So I got it all back together set the min air, tps, and timing......and it still surges but only sometimes, randomly and it smells rich.
Any ideas? I was thinking mabey the comp. played out on me.
Any ideas appreciated!!!

Does it have long tube headers, with a 1wire o2 sensor?

Re: Need Help Big Time!!!

I know its not a heated o2 sensor and everything is stock. sorry the car is not in with me now but what ever the stock exaust is it doesn't have a cat tho...also forgot to mention I know my tac is wrong big time but either it has started over heating or the temp. gauge is way off to! When the tac gives out does the temp guage give out to or is that a common prob???

Ignore the temp gauge, it should start to ping, and or release coolant through the rad cap, or when you turn it off. Do you hear the radiator making popping noises? if not it's the gauge, remember the car is old.

Re: Need Help Big Time!!!

don't hear any boil over and when i pin the a & B terminals both fans come on, the only thing that gets me is on back roads it pegs on the guage, but on the interstate it drops to 210 and holds there till i get on back roads. I was thinking 210 is about where the thermostate would close so it seems right. Also the fans never come on unless i cross the pins???

Re: Need Help Big Time!!!

update on things i replaced...o2, map, all 8 injectors, iac, egr, broke vacuum lines, all intake gaskets, ecm and a full tune up... also i set and reset timing. The problem still presist, it surges while idleing prob 5 or 600 rpm....it sounds like a miss almost.....gess im going to pull the intake back off and double check everything, prob pull the valve covers off and see what there doing. Any other ideas?????
