Rebuilt 305 TPI

Ok, Ive been looking to replace my 305 tpi in my 86 trans am due to overheating issues, well after searching I found a post on craigslist for a rebuilt 305 tpi, the guy says that he does not know the miliage but by looking at it you can tell its been rebuilt, It came out of an iroc, I attatched a picture of the motor that he sent me, I really dont know to much about motors (my step dads the mechanic and the one who will be putting it in) but does this motor look rebuilt, and he says that he has the lower and upper intake and he also said that the lower is partially ported... What does partially ported mean??? But my question is by looking at this picture does this motor look rebuilt, and do you guys think its worth buying..(He is only selling for $300)

Re: Rebuilt 305 TPI

well the center looks clean... however, the only way would probably be looking inside the cylinder walls and verifying whether it looks clean...
