tpi 350 motor question

tpi 350 motor question

i have a 87 iroc with a 350 in it the motor went and i found a motor out of an 87 trans am i bought the full motor with tpi for 300 dollars and when i had the two motors next to each other i notice on my motor the altenator was on the left and ac on the right but on my new motor its oppisite and i have mid length factory exhaust manifolds but the new motor has shorty exhaust manifolds any idea what motor it is i thought all tpi 350s were the same

Sounds like someone did a serpentine conversion on the 87 ta motor, it's a common upgrade.
But all your accessories will swap over if you wanted to do it, otherwise you would need to extend some wiring and find the proper hoses for the ac compressor to use the serp setup.
If you do swap be sure to swap the water pump too, as the serp one rotates in the other direction.

well can i just drop the motor in and hook up my radiator and just drive it or do i have to make mods and when i get i new belt what do i say i need it for since the belt system is different

Yes you can drop the new motor in as is, but like i said you will need to modify some wiring to make it work. Also the plug for the alternator will need to be changed.
The belt from an 89 should fit.
