tpi 383 cam selection
So the motor popped '91Z and I'm looking at replacing it with a remanufactured crate 383 stroker motor built for a TPI application (roller motor, not flat tappet). The builder supplies a 205-205 450/450 lift 'computer friendly' cam and apparently produces 350-360 hp and 385-400 tq.
Is there a larger cam that anyone can recommend for this motor?
I will be running a TPIS big mouth intake with ported plenum and runners, headers and full exhaust, and eventually will be a 'full bolt-on' car with aluminum heads (I want to burn off some of the warrenty first). This car is currently backed with a 700r4 10 bolt 3:23's.
I'd like a cam which has at least a bit of a lope to it and makes more hp, something around 400hp (just a number I picked out of the air).
For me this car is a summer time driver that my wife occasionally drives, (she can handle a car with a bit of kick, she loves driving my IROC - when I let her, hehe). The engine builder does not have a problem with either changing the cam or if I supply one for them.
Thanks for your replies!

Re: tpi 383 cam selection
For my build I went with the custom grind XFI cam from comp cams. It is 224/230 @.050 duration, with .565" .570" lift and 112 LSA. Or you can go with the XFI 268 which you don'h have to custom order. Either cam should meet your goals.
