i bought a 305 that was a tpi out of an 86 iroc. the guy changed it from tpi and put an edelbrock performer rpm intake and i am going to run either a qjet or a edelbrock 600 carb on it. my question is can anyone recommend a cam for this engine? it will be stock besided the intake and it does have flowtech headers. i am having to change the cam because there is no fuel pump lobe and i want to run a mechanical fuel pump. i figure if i am changing the cam i might as well get a little more power if possible but i also want decent fuel mileage as well. thanks for any advice.

 

Maybe a 204/214 .442"/.446" cam. I ran a Crane with those specs in a carb 305 once and it was way better than stock and still did not guzzle gas.
