Havinga code 32 issues

So almost every morning I start the car up I get a code 32 which is for the EGR. The other day I had my buddy go into my chip and delete everything for the EGR stuff so it would disable it. Just today I started up the car and up popped the code again and my idle was high(which goes hand in hand). Just like any other time this happens I turn the car off, let it sit for a minute then start it back up and all is well.

My question is that if my friend deleted all of the EGR stuff why am I still getting a code and the symptoms of bad EGR? I have the block off plates but haven't put them on yet, I figured by him deleting the controls in the ECM it would get me by until I had time to pull off the plenum.

Any ideas or thoughts? Mods are in the sig(not sure if that's relevant or not).

Thanks guys!
