i currently have a 1985 iroc-z camaro with the stock 305 with the wiring harness off an 87 the problem is wen i start the car it idles for a second or two then bogs down and dies if i pump the gas a bit it stays going and idles right but wen i put it in gear it bogs down an dies again. when i finally get it in gear and moving it coasts fine but when i try to accelerate it bogs down for bout 2 seconds and then picks up and if i get it above 3 grand an let off the gas it backfire for a few seconds my buddy thinks its the computer going bad and i have no idea any advice would be appreciated

Not sure the pinouts on the 87 harness match up with the existing wiring in the car, something could be off.
I do know that the 85's didn't use maf relays, they had a maf sensor module, it was a totaly different setup.
