I have a question on my gta L98. I have replaced the injectors with bosch type III.22lb injectors,stock ones previously found to be bad. The problem is this, when I let the car warm up without driving it until fully warmed up there is no problem,but if I start the car and drive it as soon as it starts the car runs fine but the Idle won't come down below 1000 rpms.If I shut the car off and start it back up the idle is fine. Secondly I have had the tps set at .54-.56 and it still does the same thing, But if I set the tps. at .60-.61 I can drive the as soon as it starts with no idle problems. Why does the tps have to be so high for the car to idle? Lastly the car runs great no surging or anything the idle just stays to high if the tps. is adjusted at .54-.56. unless I let the car warm up without driving it.

 

It is my understanding that the idle is supposed to be higher until the car enters closed loop mode. Once it reaches operating temperature (or gets close) the car will idle down properly.

 

Does the idle drop after a few minutes of driving or does it stay up? Is the IAC clean?

 

It will idle down with the tps. set at .60-.61, but if I set it at .54-.56 it won't. If I drive the car before it is completely warmed up and idled down it doesn't matter how long you drive the car it won't idle below 950 in gear. but if i shut the car off and restart it will idle 650 in gear. Thank for your help because I am at a loss on this one.

 

I have replaced the IAC valve 2 times with no change I have cleaned the IAC port on the TB. it also has no change. The tps sensor is a cheap one from Advance auto parts do you think this could be some of the problem. I have checked it and it will read low(.45),but if I move the throttle to full and the release it it will go back to .60.I have checked the cable and the throttle and nothing is sticking.
