TPI Injector Connector Issue

Not sure if this is the right place for this, so I apologize if it isn't. I have an L98 TPI engine and two of the connectors are broken and the clips don't seat well on the injectors. I went to the parts house and bought 2 replacement connectors. These replacements are pre wired and have about 6 or 7 inches of wire on them. My question is to replace them is it just a straight forward cut and splice or if I change the wire length am I changing the resistance or signal to the injector and causing myself more problems?
