How to set base timing on a 86 lb9
Hello I have a 86 305 lb9 and I need to set the timing. I've read about unplugging the 4 wire plug but the motor won't run. I've read about unhooking the brown wire but do I have to remove it from the plug and rehook the other three wires. I am just trying to get a few thing straight before trying again. Thanks

You have to have the distributor pluged in. Only disconnect the one brown wire connector.

Different wire; tan /blk
You are looking for single wire connector out of the main harness like this.
Vette position shown but yours the same connector.
Engine won't run with 4 wire dist connector unplugged
