Problems with TPI misfire when AC is on

When I built my 56 iroc we switched the front accessary drive to serpentine with a Sanden compressor and a single wire alternator that came with the kit....100amp....What happens is that after driving in the AZ heat for a while with the AC on the car will start acting like it is starving to death! A LOT of hiccups and bucking UNTIL I turn the air off.
Any ideas how to solve the problem?

What is the battery gauge saying when it does this? It could be that with the TPI taking amps and any other acc. running whenever you turn on the AC the alternator cant keep up and you start to run the battery down causing the TPI not to function right.

The guage definitely reacts to the AC, brake lights, fans (used the iroc set-up) ....Possible to maybe up the amps on the alt? I understand that I just be may be pulling too many amps with all that running. My question is....the single wire is not what the Camaro came with so is the computer maybe not finding what it needs while the AC is on?

Re: Problems with TPI misfire when AC is on

If the gauges reacts to even those other acc. then i would think that the alt. cant handle the load of a "modern" car with many acc. and fuel injection. Now weither or not it being a single wire has an affect on the TPI i dont know. I dont have much experience with them to really tell you for sure. But either way if you replace the alt. with a higher amp one then you should go ahead and get the correct number of wires for the TPI setup. That way you kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
